A tanoura show for Ramadan in Dubai takes place after iftar, once the fast is broken and dinner is served. You can book a tanoura dancer for a hotel Ramadan tent, an iftar or suhoor gathering, a corporate iftar, a majlis evening or an Eid al Fitr celebration in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. A standard show runs 15 to 20 minutes, which fits easily between dinner and prayer. Ramadan is one of the busiest periods of the year, so send your dates early.
Price: a standard 15 to 20 minute tanoura show usually costs AED 1,500 to AED 2,200, and an LED tanoura show AED 2,000 to AED 3,000. Ramadan is a high demand period and can cost more. See how much a tanoura show costs.
Ramadan 2027 dates
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, with Eid al Fitr at the end of the month. The exact dates follow the moon sighting. If you already know your evenings, send them now and adjust them later if the calendar moves. For a hotel tent booked over several nights, list every date in your first message.
Events we book for
- Ramadan tents. Hotel tents and restaurants with special Ramadan menus, often over several evenings.
- Iftar gatherings. A short show once guests have broken the fast.
- Suhoor evenings. A later show in a relaxed tent or majlis.
- Corporate iftars. A cultural moment for staff and clients, from a small iftar to a large hotel tent. See corporate events.
- Eid al Fitr. Lunches, family days and evening receptions after the month ends.
Timing after Maghrib
The show starts only after the call to Maghrib prayer and the iftar meal. That time moves later as the month goes on, so agree the start time, the load-in time and where the dancer changes with your venue. One 15 to 20 minute show is usually enough. If you want more, book an extended set with a costume change rather than several shows.
A calmer show for the holy month
Tanoura grew out of Sufi whirling, and that roots it well in the mood of Ramadan. Ask for a calm, flowing show with traditional music rather than a fast party track. Keep the volume moderate so guests can talk. If you want live music, a drummer or a small folk trio can play instead of a recorded track. For a whirling show in a plain white robe, ask about Sufi whirling.
LED or traditional skirt?
Both work after dark. A traditional skirt in stacked colours suits a lantern lit tent and a calmer mood. An LED skirt glows in a dimmed ballroom or outdoors, and its colours can be programmed, for example to match Ramadan themed lighting. Tell us the lighting in the room and we suggest the better fit. See the tanoura show page for each version.
Space in a tent
The dancer needs a clear circle about 2.5 to 3 metres across on a non-slip floor, away from low tables, lantern stands and cables the skirt could catch. Plan the circle before the tables go in.
